The Order Filler is responsible for filling the customer orders and delivering them to the outbound staging area in a manner that meets the company standards for safety, security, and productivity. The order filler is expected to fill all orders correctly and completely, as directed by the Warehouse Management system (WMS) program.

Schedule: 12:00 pm - 8:30pm Overtime as needed

Essential Functions

The individual must behave consistently with Platt’s Core Competencies and focus on safety. Efficiently pick customer orders for shipment ensuring that the correct number and type of product is loaded and shipped. Assemble various types of merchandise for shipment. Carry or transport orders to shipping locations, or delivery platforms with materials handling equipment. Print, tag or mark orders as requested. Repack any orders, which require such handling when necessary. Ensure outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage. Operate machinery in performance of order filling duties when required. Properly use and understand all computer programs and hardware necessary for completion of the job task. Maintain a minimum standard for productivity and accuracy as determined by current company policy. On a daily basis, inspect and perform minor maintenance on equipment. Comply with OSHA and MSDS standards. Reliable and regular attendance is required. The work schedule for this position is from 12:00 pm to 8:30 pm and overtime as required.

Other Duties and Responsibilities

Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area. Assist with consolidation and wrapping of pallets as needed. Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

Qualifications

Knowledge / Experience / Skills

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is preferred but not required. Data-entry experience is preferred but not required.

Language Skills

This position requires the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. The ability to read and understand Radio Frequency scanning devices and to communicate using VOICE based computer equipment.

Mathematical Skills

This position requires the ability to perform simple math such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

Reasoning Ability

This position requires the ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. The ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Certificates, Licenses, Registration

This position requires a forklift certification. Forklift training will be provided by the company as needed.

Work Environment

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to airborne particles due to high levels of dust and dirt. The warehouse environment has no means of temperature control; therefore, the temperature is dependent upon weather conditions.
