In the Distribution/Supply Team Manager position, you will have overall responsibility for supporting manufacturing such as unloading packaging materials, supplying production lines, ordering supplies. Specifically this role will have ownership of production reporting through WMS as well as receiving packaging materials for the manufacturing departments. This individual with also oversee other areas of the Warehouse, such as the shipping department when needed.
Manage operation of Sun’s warehousing functions including, receiving, storage, picking and shipping. Production reporting, and shipping processes.
Supervise team of associates including developing and tracking performance standards, facilitate leadership team meetings, and conducting associate reviews.
Coordinate with other team managers to maximize utilization of available resources, such as material handling equipment, storage space, and warehouse personnel.
Understanding of the WMS systems and cross train personnel to learn new systems, (SAP, Red Prairie).
Ensure good housekeeping, promote Safety awareness, and follow Sun’s Safety policy and procedures.
Coordinate Safety Circles within the department and assign personnel to perform monthly housekeeping and Safety audits.
Train personnel to operate WMS and SAP systems.
Attend production daily production meetings to know how to schedule personnel when there is a high demand needed to operate the shift.
Maintain and control all cost within the department’s budget.
Hold weekly Safety chatter meetings with all associates within your department.
5 years of Warehouse experience required
Bachelor degree preferred
Fork-lift certified required
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Ability to collaborate with various teams
Strong problem solving skills, collect data, and analytical skills
Proficient in Excel and Word
Knowledge and handling 5000-6000lb capacity fork-lift, propane/electric
WMS/SAP Experience minimum 2 years
