Associate’s /Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination
of intellectual instruction and work experience
Forklift Certification and Material Handling Equipment
Knowledge of complex distribution systems, equipment
and facility maintenance and repair methodology.
3-5 years of previous facility maintenance and
management experience in a high volume, multi-shift, order
fulfillment distribution center

Responsible for management of the facility maintenance mechanics/staff/processes within a high volume, order fulfillment, multi-shift distribution center and its equipment, in accordance with the highest standards, applicable regulations and fiscal consideration. Areas of responsibility include conveyor/sortation system, power equipment fleet, DC mechanical systems, physical plant, and housekeeping. Manage processes to ensure compliance with company policies/procedures, continual process improvement and drive associate initiatives to create and promote an environment where associates are involved, empowered, and committed to the success of the Company thereby negating the need for third party representation.
Develop and manage distribution center conveyor, power equipment, and facility preventative maintenance process/schedule to ensure unscheduled conveyor/equipment repairs are minimized. Ensure that effective preventative maintenance documentation is maintained.
§ Develop and manage daily inspection processes to ensure that the Distribution Center, the conveyor/sortation system, the equipment, and the mechanical systems are safe, operable and maintained to the highest standards.
§ Manage/oversee repairs and maintenance of distribution center conveyor and equipment. Assist maintenance associates with diagnosis and repairs, when necessary.
§ Develop and manages effective monitoring controls and reporting mechanisms to measure conveyor system performance.
§ Research modifications and improvements to distribution center physical infrastructure (conveyor/sortation system, equipment, etc.) and make recommendations accordingly. Develop management reporting review processes to evaluate/improve performance of conveyor/sortation system and power equipment.
Maintain daily Interaction with distribution center operations management team to ensure facility maintenance needs are met.
§ Develop and maintain strong working relationship with IT, Industrial Engineering, and Distribution Operations Management.
Manage facility operation within agreed to operating budgets and d eliver results in support of the company’s strategy and expectations.
§ Manage the acquisition of distribution center tools/parts/materials and ensures that spare/replacement parts inventory is maintained to minimize repairs downtime and optimize investment return.
Manage the recruitment, hiring, training, and evaluation of performance reviews, and performance management processes of facility maintenance associates.
§ Maintain a union free environment
§ Ensure a safe work environment that is compliance with OSHA, EPA and any other relevant regulations.
§ Effectively manage facility maintenance associates, by creating/sharing a common vision/direction and an understanding of the organization’s strategy.
§ Maintain good employee relations and adherence to policies and procedures, working with HR in the administration of company performance management processes as required
· Generates reports, e-mails, correspondence, completes checklists and maintains records.
· Makes maintenance recommendations for Distribution Center, and equipment improvements.
· Assists in other areas as necessary.
Manages and supervises the activities of DC Maintenance Associates to include hiring, performance evaluation, coaching, and developing.
