Your Opportunity

Lead Management is one of Cook Medical’s nine Strategic Business Units and a worldwide leader in the design, development and manufacture of medical devices used for the management and extraction of implanted pacemaker leads. To meet the needs of medical professionals worldwide, this SBU has both domestic and international sales forces. We have an immediate opening for a highly motivated and driven District Manager in our Lead Management SBU calling on Electrophysiologists, Cardiothoracic Surgeons and Interventional Cardiologists to develop and maintain our business while providing clinical and technical support during minimally invasive surgical procedures. This is an excellent opportunity to join a fast growing, well-established, and respected medical device industry leader. The territory offers substantial growth opportunities for a professional salesperson who brings the required skills. The ideal candidate will have a 4 year degree and/or at least 4 years of successful medical device sales experience. Clinical experience related to Electrophysiology, Endovascular or Cardiothoracic Surgery is a plus. We’re looking for exceptional people dedicated to high performance and personal excellence.

Job Functions/Duties (may include other duties as assigned)

Field Related Duties
  • Develop new business and expand existing business through physician & medical staff interaction
  • Drive business in Materials Management through pricing and contract negotiations
  • Clinically and technically support physicians and medical staff in minimally invasive cardiovascular procedures
  • Educate customers through In-services, presentations, literature & case support
  • Master the principles of sales and marketing as well as your knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy and physiology
  • Strategically develop yourself as multi-faceted resource to your overall customer base
  • Participate in national, state, and regional sales exhibits

    Administrative Duties

  • Develop, maintain and execute an annual territory business plan
  • Maintain a highly productive work regiment through appointment setting and customer follow-up
  • Analyze sales and business reports to enhance sales productivity and efficiency
  • Maintain timely and weekly expense reports
  • Maintain Rep stock of product inventory
  • Keep current on all managed health care requirements including vendor credentialing
  • Keep current on compliance related hospital standards including all required annualized training, shots and vaccinations

    Experience

  • Minimum 3 years business to business sales experience preferably in a related field
  • Experience in effective communication, and in managing major accounts and large contracts.
  • 2 years experience in a medical setting or equivalent preferred
  • Experience managing multiple projects
  • Experience using computer software

    Education

  • Bachelor degree desired
  • Must know how to develop genuine sales relationships in an ethical manner

    Physical Requirements

  • Works under general office environmental conditions.
  • Sitting for extended periods, utilizes close visual acuity for working with computers, etc.
