The District Manager (DM) is accountable for delivering consistent, compliant sales results in the assigned District by motivating, inspiring, leading and directing the activities of an assigned sales team of Sales Representatives. The DM ensures the execution of the company's business plan for the assigned market segment, which may include large medical practices, individual offices and practices, community hospitals, clinics and other healthcare institutions. The DM coaches and develops a results-oriented team of Sales Representatives who influence healthcare professionals, office staff members and other stakeholders within assigned customer groups to support the use of the company's products. The DM ensures that Sales Representatives understand and apply in-depth clinical and business expertise as they sell and that they demonstrate effective selling skills. The DM coaches staff to maximize opportunities and to leverage resources appropriately. Ensures Sales Reps collaborate with business partners efficiently and effectively. Ensures Sales Reps accurately articulate the value proposition for the customer, and key or potential decision makers, to maximize business outcomes. The DM builds relationships with all stakeholders, to establish a known, long-term presence of the company and enhance sustainable growth of company products in the District.

A minimum of a Bachelors degree and a minimum of 5 years of experience in pharmaceutical, biologic/biotech, or medical sales experience, defined as selling FDA approved pharmaceutical or device product(s) to licensed healthcare professionals (i.e. MD, NP, RN, etc) and demonstrated leadership skills/abilities is required. Two years of management/supervisory experience is preferred. Completion of a J&J Management Development Program (Field Development Program, DM Prep Program) or prior management experience required in lieu of FLDP or DMPP is preferred. An expertise in healthcare industry sales and high level planning and organizing and business planning is preferred. Must have the ability to travel through the district as required. Cardiovascular or thrombosis therapeutic area experience is preferred.
Individuals able to produce documented sales results, examples of company awards, and/or those who have participated in a management development program are preferred. Individuals must live within the current geography or willing to relocate to it.
