Overview:

The incumbent will serve as an advocate for diversity and inclusion. He or she will recommend initiatives, offer solutions, and foster dialogue and interaction that will advance the company’s diversity goals.

Key Responsibilities:

1 Meet with the CEO and Business Unit leaders to develop and implement a diversity and inclusion strategy.

2 Manage the Affirmative Action program, including responsibility for program planning and development, policy development, legal compliance, OFFCP and other compliance-related audits, and advice to managers.

3 Meet with external organizations that have successful diversity programs.

4 Assess, prioritize, monitor, measure, and address diversity concerns and challenges on an organization and department level.

5 Align with key stakeholders and build a network of strategic relationships to build a diverse talent pipeline.

6 Assess the impact and state of CNA’s Diversity and Advisory Committee and recommend a path forward. Implement continuous, iterative meetings to ensure actions taken are having the desired impact.

7 Develop and deliver diversity training and solutions to CNA leaders and managers.

8 Monitor internal and external trends; identify and develop related action oriented programs.

9 Collaborate with Communications to design and oversee implementation of an internal and external communications strategy to ensure our employees, our sponsors, and future employees understand our commitment to diversity.

10 Establish metrics to measure program progress and achievement of short and long term goals.

11 Participate in the investigation of discrimination complaints and recommend solutions to address issues.

12 Present program highlights to the P&C Committee, as required.

13 Assist with Federal and State reporting.

14 Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills & Experience

1 Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field.

2 Experience: Minimum 10 years of progressive and related experience.

3 Skills: Strategic thinking; understands and can effectively articulate how diversity strengthens CNA; executive presence; very strong written and verbal communication skills; proven ability to build trust and gain the confidence of key internal and

external stakeholders; highest levels of personal and professional ethics and integrity; superior program manager and communicator.

Additional Qualifications:

Project management experience ; comprehensive knowledge and awareness of best practices; views diverse talent as a strategic differentiator; strong quantitative skills with the ability to analyze and present data; experience working effectively across a

complex organization; experience working with national-level professional organizations; forward thinking with the skillful ability to avoid status quo and manage with agility.

4 Other: 15% travel.
