The Department of Surgery, led by Professor and Chair Rainer W. G. Gruessner, MD, FACS, seeks a Division Chief for the Surgical Oncology department at the rank of Professor. Academic rank and tenure eligibility are commensurate with credentials. Patient care is provided at University of Arizona Medical Center - University Campus, a private, non-profit hospital located at the Arizona Health Sciences Center, adjacent to the University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona. Tucson, located in Southern Arizona, is a growing metropolitan area with a population of more than 1 million. Duties and Responsibilities
Arizona Board of Regents Minimum Qualifications
- Act as Surgical Director for the Arizona Cancer Center. * Manage and support a Division of ten faculty members. * Perform clinical and surgical procedures. * Provide high-quality clinical care to inpatient and outpatient populations. * Perform research and scholarly activity particular to research in breast cancer, melanoma and other skin tumors, sarcomas and cancers of the gastrointestinal tract, especially esophagus, liver, pancreas, and rectal cancer. * Participate in clinical and didactic education of medical students and residents. * Conduct clinical and/or basic science research appropriate to interests and academic goals.

Additional Minimum Qualifications
- Medical degree or equivalent. * Arizona Medical License or the ability to obtain licensure at the time of hire. * Board Certified or Board Eligible by the American Board of Surgery.
