The Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco is looking for a TEMPORARY Donor Services Assistant through June 28, 2013. Under supervision, the Donor Services Assistant ("DSA") performs data processing for the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco, the largest arts institution in the Bay Area. The DSA inputs membership and development data into the donor database with the knowledge that the information will be accessed by a variety of staff and that accuracy is crucial to the fundraising efforts of the organization. This position interacts frequently with the Assistant Director of Donor Information Services to ensure accurate and efficient processing of all information.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepares and enters data received from all sources including mail, onsite, online, and phone. Verifies completed work, makes corrections where necessary.

Processes payments of membership and development gifts of all types.

Performs related record-keeping duties such as filing, logging batches, and reconciling accounts. Executes simple arithmetic computations and commits to memory routine codes necessary for computer input.

Manages data entry files, correcting and updating as required.

Facilitates daily operations to produce letters, reports, receipts, labels, and other computer-generated documents. Assembles and distributes reports to appropriate departments.

Opens and sorts mail to identify incoming gifts for processing; distributes mail accordingly.

Works with Membership staff to resolve payment and data issues.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education: A high school diploma or GED. A B.A. degree from an accredited college or university preferred.

Work Experience: Minimum of two years of data processing experience, preferably with Raiser's Edge.

Skills and Abilities:
Accurate typing (at least 45 wpm), spelling, and good working knowledge of written English and written forms of address.

Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite.

PC literate with database experience, preferably Raiser's Edge.

Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills.

A work ethic that exhibits a high degree of detail, accuracy, and efficiency.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Knowledge of common office practices and procedures.

Must be able to perform basic arithmetic calculations.

Must have the ability to deal tactfully and courteously with members, donors, the general public, and staff.

This is a TEMPORARY position through June 28, 2013. There are no benefits associated with this position.

Hourly Rate of Pay: $16.075/hour

The Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco are the city's largest public arts institutions and comprise the de Young and the Legion of Honor museums.
