DESCRIPTION

Perform a variety of routine and complex transportation and distribution center work activities in order to execute transportation and customer service functions in support of the Food Bank.

DUTIES

Operate company owned and leased trucks over 4 tons to facilitate shipping and receiving operations.

Perform required before-, during-, and after-operation "user maintenance" of designated vehicles and provide required reports.

Services equipment with fuel, oil and other needs: checks fluid levels, cleans equipment and vehicles externally and internally, replaces bulbs and filters, etc.

Maintains accurate records and logs.

Provide outstanding customer service during delivery and pickup operations.

Maintain all required certifications required by DOT and OSHA and company safety programs.

Maintain in excellent condition and protect all property entrusted to you.

Perform any other tasks assigned to support and improve the overall team operations including order picking, loading and unloading.

Must plan route to ensure most economical use of time and equipment.

Operate manual and electric pallet jacks and forklift equipment to load and off-load freight/products up to 50+ pounds unassisted.

Ensures compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines, etc.

Detects and eliminates or minimizes safety hazards in accordance with all applicable policy and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); one or more year(s) experience and a Class A or B license. Must be able to work in severe weather conditions; both heat and cold. Individual will be subjected to prolonged sitting and driving. Must regularly lift and/or move and frequently lift and/or move up to fifty pounds, and operate a forklift.
