Safely operate University of Illinois at Chicago motor vehicles in and around the Chicago Metropolitan area, or as dispatched.
Drive University of Illinois at Chicago automobiles, buses, vans, trucks, and/or tractor trailers to transport personnel, refuse, materials, mail and/or freight. Maintain contact with Dispatch Office via radio and/or telephone, informing office of all changes in location, delays, traffic problems and emergencies. Operate snow removal equipment when required. Load, haul and deliver supplies, equipment, mail, freight, materials, express packages and /or passengers. Check vehicle for minor repairs which may be needed, including tire inflation, fuel, oil and water levels, belts and hoses, missing safety equipment and complete a vehicle repair order when repairs are needed. May perform minor repairs on vehicles as needed. Maintain accurate records of material and personnel transported per assignment. Completes various trip sheet and logs for each assigned task. May assist in Motor Pool radio Dispatch Office and may assist Grounds Workers with tasks involving vehicles with mounted equipment.
Minimum Qualifications: Must possess a valid Class A Illinois Driver's License with air brakes and passenger endorsement.
