DESCRIPTION

Looking for individuals to transport individuals with developmental disabilities to Workshops and/or other areas as needed.

Experience working with developmentally disabled individuals is required. Must be able to drive a 15 passenger van and be able to lift 50 pounds.

10 part-time positions are available.

Hours: Varies.

Location: Jacksonville, AR.

DUTIES

Works cooperatively with other staff operations supervisors, parents, guardians, and
maintenance personnel.

Becomes familiar with corporate policy pertaining to transporting passengers.

Becomes familiar with the type of vehicle being operated.

Anticipates on a daily basis needs such as tissue, paper towels, gas and seating capacity for the route.

Maintains records as needed and releases to the transportation/client coordinator upon request, i.e., UMTA reports, time sheets, complaint sheets and other reports as needed.

Releases to maintenance section in writing any problems associated with vehicle.

Maintains communications with the transportation/client coordinator to insure information concerning clients, i.e., behavior, not attending, address changes, problems are kept current.

Supervises the aide in the performance of their duties.

Ensures compliance with safety procedures for personnel and vehicles and assures that all riders have been removed from the vehicle and checked into school or responsible person's home after completion of route.

Reports to the transportation coordinator or designated representative any problems encountered while enroute and/or complaints from parents or guardians.

Develops good driver/client relationships by treating all clients with courtesy, tact and kindness.

Must be physically able to pick up babies and children and place them into the vehicle and into a child seat. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Must be physically able to get in and out of a 15 passenger van and to assist passengers into and out of the van.

Must be physically able to bend over, kneel down, or squat down to fasten 4-way tie downs for wheelchairs and/or fasteners for child safety seats.

Will be responsible for moving child safety seats from one vehicle to another as deem necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS

One to three months of related education experience and/or training. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Must be physically able to get in and out of a 13-15 passenger van and to assist passengers into and out of the van.

Must have at least 3 years of driving experience with a clean driving record. Must be at least 21 years of age to drive a Pathfinder vehicle, and must be at least 25 years of age to drive a 15 passenger van. Must be able to read instructions and maps. Must be neat in appearance.

Must possess current Arkansas Driver's License, have current auto liability insurance coverage, and be physically able to drive to various locations in Arkansas.
