DESCRIPTION

***THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN CAVE SPRINGS, ARKANSAS.***

Works under the direct supervision of the Transportation Supervisor; is responsible for the transportation of clients to and from their quarters or other areas as authorized by the Client Coordinator, Administrative Assistant, Transportation Coordinator and/or Transportation Supervisor.

Looking for individuals to transport individuals with developmental disabilities to Workshops and/or other areas as needed.

1 part-time positions is available.

Hours: Varies.

Location: Cave Springs, AR.

DUTIES

Supervises aides and clients while enroot.

Works cooperatively with other staff operations supervisors, parents, guardians, and maintenance personnel.

Becomes familiar with department policy pertaining to transporting passengers.

Becomes familiar with the type of vehicle being operated i.e., 13, 15 passenger vans, 3 passenger trucks.

Anticipates, on a daily basis needs, such as tissue, paper towels, gas and seating capacity for the route.

Maintains records as needed and releases to the transportation/client coordinator upon request, i.e., UMTA reports, time sheets, complaint sheets and other reports as needed.

Releases to maintenance section in writing any problems associated with vehicle.

Maintains communications with the transportation/client coordinator to insure information concerning clients, i.e., behavior, not attending, address changes, problems are kept current.

Efforts between aid and driver are coordinated to ensure all duties associated with route are performed.

Ensures compliance with safety procedures for personnel and vehicles and assures that all riders have been removed from the vehicle and checked into school or responsible person's home after completion of route.

Reports to the transportation supervisor or designated representative any problems encountered while enroot and/or complaints from parents or guardians.

Develops good driver/client relationships by treating all clients with courtesy, tact and kindness.

Must be physically able to pick up babies and children and place them into the vehicle and into a child seat. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Must be physically able to get in and out of any Pathfinder Inc. passenger vehicle and to assist passengers into and out of the van.

Must be physically able to bend over, kneel down, or squat down to fasten 4-way tie downs for wheelchairs and/or fasteners for child safety seats.

Will be responsible for moving child safety seats from one vehicle to another as deem necessary.

Will perform Driver Aid duties as deem necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS

One to three months of related education experience and/or training. Supervises aides and clients while enroot.
