Summary:
Newly created position with a Top 100 AM Law Firm for an E-Discovery Associate with 2-4 years of experience as a litigator and eDiscovery expert. Must have experience litigating, taking and defending depositions, arguing motions, writing briefs, etc. Expertise advising clients regarding the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure (FRCP) and Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM) and participation in the Sedona Conference is preferred. Appointed eDiscovery Special Masters are encouraged to apply.

The eDiscovery Associate will work closely with eDiscovery Counsel and will advise clients on complex electronic discovery and document review matters, provide counsel to case teams, create guideline for new business plan implementation, manage outside vendors, plan discovery protocols and procedures, etc.

The position requires broad expertise and demonstrated knowledge of litigation processes, detailed technical knowledge of eDiscovery issues, an understanding of networking concepts and metadata, strong technical and project management skills, ability to describe complex technical concepts and ideas in non-technical terms, strong negotiation and analytical skills.

Experience with complex commercial and IP litigation, knowledge of current case law, Federal and/or State rules of civil procedure and rules of evidence as they relate to discovery; knowledge of leading and precedential decisions is essential.

Requirements:
Juris Doctor, preferably from an A.B.A. accredited Law School.

5 years’ experience in eDiscovery.

2-4 years of litigation experience.

Thorough knowledge of state and federal eDiscovery laws

Strong functional knowledge and experience with eDiscovery litigation and data mgmt.

Experience with technology-assisted review tools;

Expertise in FRCP, The Sedona Conference, and Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM);

Excellent verbal and written communication skills;

Excellent critical thinking and analytical skills;

Ability to develop effective collaborative relationships;

Strong organization and negotiation skills;

Ability to assess current policies and practices and recommend process improvements;

Ability to work independently and collaboratively; and

Ability to manage multiple projects and achieve goals in a dynamic and sometimes stressful environment

IT / Computer Science education and/or hands-on experience is preferred.

Ability to substantively review documents using various litigation software tools such as Relativity, Concordance, Summation, Ringtail, Clearwell, Recommind.

Superior attention to detail

Demonstrated ability to use PC-based and on-line technology relevant to the job

Familiarity with electronic document review and retrieval applications

Demonstrated leadership and problem solving skills

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Ability to prioritize tasks, work on multiple assignments and manage ambiguity

Ability to work independently and as part of a team of professionals at all levels
