The position will require a significant degree of judgment and self-direction in the performance of assigned duties. Must perform and assist in procedures, communicating with patients, and possess knowledge necessary to operate and maintain all required imaging equipment and understanding echocardiography procedure coding. Must be able to communicate effectively with department staff, hospital staff, Cardiologists, staff physicians, patients and family members. Must possess the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Needs to exhibit critical thinking skills, problem solving ability and interpersonal skills. Certified in Basic Life Support required. Credentialed as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) within one year from date of hire. Staff assigned facilities with the network as required.

Job Qualifications:

PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS: Sitting up to 7 hours per day in 1 hour increments. Walking up to 2 hours per day in 15 minuteincrements. Occasional standing, up to 1 hour. Continuous use of fingers/hands to manipulate probe,equipment switches and data entry on keyboard. Frequent use of upper extremities to repositionpatients, transport patients, and lifting supplies up to 10 lbs. Frequently pushes echo equipment forportable studies, approximately 440+ lbs. Occasionally stoops, bends and reaches above shoulderlevel. Hearing as it relates to normal conversation and doppler echocardiography. Seeing as it relatesto general vision, near vision, far vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and visual

monotony.

EDUCATION: High school graduate. Graduate of an accredited/approved Cardiovascular Technology program or equivalent.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: Minimum 1 year experience in Cardiac Ultrasound preferred.

WORK SCHEDULE: Primarily Monday through Friday, day shift. Rotating shifts as assigned. Rotating on-call, weekends and holidays as required, based on the needs of the department.
