PURPOSE: Performs diagnostic electroencephalogram procedures and assists in the performance of non-invasive cardiology diagnostic procedures, participating in activities which support the efficient operation of the department.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Employee adheres to and follows the principles and service code of Charlotte Regional Medical Center's Commitment to Caring Contract and Code of Conduct, Performs standard EEGs and provides diagnostic quality tracings to be interpreted by the neurologist. Performs Electrocerebral Silence EEGs in compliance with established protocol and provides a diagnostic quality tracing for the neurologist's interpretation. Performs Sleep Deprived EEGs in accordance with established protocol, providing a diagnostic quality record of the study. Performs EKGs and signal averaged EKGs accurately providing diagnostic quality tracings on a timely basis. Assists in the clerical and daily operation of the department. Performs age specific testing, using appropriately a knowledge of specialized safety, technical and support needs for the specific age groups tested.
Education and Training: High school graduate or equivalent; must have specialized training in neurodiagnostic testing, college or vocational training preferred, alternative training may be acceptable.
Licensure, Certification and/or Registration: None required.
Experience: Minimum of two years in electroencephalography.
