ONE YEAR+ CONTRACT
The minimum qualifications include an Associates Degree (US) or College Diploma (Canada) in EHS or related field with 4 years of relevant EHS work experience. The Professional should have:
Good verbal and written communication skills
Proficiency in the use of computers
Good analytical skills
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced setting
Experience using defined processes for managing EHS risks
Familiarity with incident investigation
Energy Industry experience
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
The EHS Specialist will provide support to construction personnel in developing and implementing safety plans for individual projects. The Professional will:
Work with the Superintendent of Construction to identify project risks.
Work with the Contractor to create a project-specific safety plan to cope with those risks while meeting the requirements of company policies and regulatory guidelines.
Provide training to inspectors regarding the contractor safety plan and company policies.
Monitor compliance with the contractor safety plan. Perform on-site audits if needed.
Assist in the investigation of serious incidents to determine causes and develop recommendations to avoid problems.
Study the effectiveness of the safety plan and suggest improvements for the current and future projects.
Travel up to 60-70% required.
