Location: Astoria Blvd, Houston, TX 77089
Performs a variety of procedures designed to test and treat cardiovascular disease and irregularities of the heart. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development as it relates to the different life cycles. Specific age groups that are served by this position.

Additional Summary Specific to Job

Monitor patient's heart rate to help diagnose and treat heart problems. EKG testing 12-lead single analysis cardiographic rhythm. Performs diagnostic test to include electrocardiography (EKG's), stress echocardiogram, pharmacological, non-pharmacological stress test, holter monitor hook-ups, and holter scanning analysis. Prepares and explains the procedures to the patients. Reviews tracings and alerts proper medical personnel of patients with serious arrhythmia's. Operates EKG machines to detect and record the electronic impulses transmitted by the heart during and between heartbeats. Performs assessments on patients of various conditions and ages. Assist physicians during procedures. Provide data for diagnosis of heart ailments.
Complies with laboratory policies, technical procedures, safety rules and infection control policies. Maintains crash cart and defibrillator. Keeps work area clean and stocked.
Calibrates and prepares equipment. Stays abreast of current trends of technology and procedures. Other duties as assigned.

Organizational Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of basic arrhythmia course. One year experience in a healthcare setting.

Advanced Cardic Life Support (ACLS) preferred
Certified Cardiographic Technician (CCT) by the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).
Basic Life Support (BLS) required

Departmental Requirements/Preferences

Experience with nuclear stress testing.

Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
