Support Carilion’s hallmarks of service excellence and quality for all job responsibilities. Directs prevention of nosocomial infections in the hospital setting by providing for infection control surveillance,
problem identification, intervention, program evaluation, education and consultation to hospital staff and management. Responsible for implementation and coordination of infection control in accordance with established standards. Determines and implements the functions and activities of Employee Health based upon identified needs, guidelines, regulatory standards, and established goals. Provides health screening, health education, and guidance to Carilion employees. Monitors employee health to protect patients and employees. Provides vaccine education and protection to employees. Complies with the mandates of required accrediting, regulatory agencies, and advisory body requirements including Virginia Department of Health/Licensure, Joint Commission, OSHA, and CDC.

Minimum Qualifications Required:
Education: Graduate of Professional School of Nursing with current Virginia licensure required. Bachelor's Degree or equivalent knowledge preferred.

Experience: Minimum of two years professional nursing experience involving interviewing and health assessment skills required. Occupational health or employee health background preferred. Two years experience in Clinical Effectiveness related responsibilities also preferred.

Licensure,
certification, and/or
registration: Effective verbal and written communication skills. Research and analytical skills. Leadership abilities. Effective problem solving, decision making and reasoning ability. Skills in personal computer applications, including application of spreadsheet, data base, electronic mail, and word processing software in a Windows environment.
