DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Manages the architecture of end-to-end life cycle for all corporate workstations. Uses best practices associated with standardization, patch/configuration management and remote administration, and ensures that the Personal Computer (PC) environment is scalable and supportable. Supports the design, architecture, and implementation of identity management solutions. Creates PC hardware and software standards for enterprise computer systems. Develops and manages PC operating system images containing other required software to maximize the efficiency of support operations including potential integration with Application Virtualization (App-V). Engineers PC solutions of all types in a manner that adheres to industry best practices. Establishes processes and systems for centralized PC computer management, including configuration, patching, and security along with integration into Microsoft's System Center suite. Assist in establishing processes and systems for Mobile Device Management (MDM). Designs, architects, and implements identity management solutions at all levels including but not limited to enterprise directory technologies and solutions (directories, virtual directories), security applications, access management solutions, user provisioning solutions, federated solutions, and so on. Studies and develops solutions for rule-based, policy-driven management of digital identities across disparate systems. Analyzes identity and related data across systems and develops solutions for linking records and data cleansing. Provides policy and strategic planning support to include researching relevant laws and policies, determining industry and government best practices, and understanding the state of the industry as they related to Federated Identity Management, Security, and general IT portfolio management. Drafts, reviews and/or finalizes documents such as strategic plans, component descriptions, performance measures, position papers and strategic roadmaps. Assure that the Federated Identity Management solution is aligned, both technically and with business program, to government-wide policies, programs, and solutions. Prepare and deliver presentations for feasibility studies, time, schedule, and cost estimates for executives, project teams, and other project stakeholders. Prepare, document, and deliver training materials including user guides, online instructional material, and classroom training material.

MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Seven years of overall experience in the maintenance and operation of computer or data originating systems or a closely related field are required. Directly related professional experience may be substituted for the education requirement on a year-for-year basis.
MINIMUM LICENSE REQUIREMENTS
Valid Class "C" Driver's License and compliance with the City of Houston's policy on driving (AP 2-2).
Minimum of 3 years in advanced technical support, desktop engineering, and/or desktop architecture. 2+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Active Directory , 2+ years of experience with Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), Microsoft Desktop Optimization Packs (MDOP), Mobile Device Management (MDM) and Identity Management systems
