Pay Rate $14.50/hr - ** LOCAL Candidates only**
SUMMARY
Assists with the Quality Control (QC) activities according to established procedures. Major QC duties include the testing and release of finished components and kits.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Performs routine Quality Control testing of raw materials, components and finished kits according to established House Specifications.
Assists with the maintenance of real time, accelerated and shipping stability testing according to established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Assists with the evaluation of in-process materials according to established procedures.
Assists with the testing of surveys.
Performs return authorization product testing according to established procedures.
Assists with the validation of processes and equipment according to established procedures.
Assists with the maintenance of M.R. bins.
Assists with the maintenance of patient serum panels.
Assists Technical Service with customer complaint testing when needed according to established QC House Specifications.
Maintains personal training files for work performed.
Maintains detailed Device History Records and any associated documentation for all QC activities in accordance with Quality System Regulations (QSRs) and International Standards.
Assists with the maintenance of QC equipment according to SOPs as requested by supervisor.
Informs supervisor of laboratory equipment needs and other supplies required to avoid interruptions in production schedules. Informs supervisor of broken or deteriorating equipment.
Maintains work area and laboratory in a clean and orderly manner. Performs Friday Clean-up responsibilities in a thorough, timely manner.
Follows established safety and environmental procedures. Reports all safety hazards immediately.
Other duties may be assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree B.S. or B.A. in the biological or related sciences with 0-1 year of laboratory sciences.
Relevant work experience of 3-4 years may be substituted for a degree.
Good working knowledge of basic biological and chemical laboratory procedures required.
Ability to operate basic laboratory equipment. Knowledge of Quality Systems Regulations (QSR) is highly desirable.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works with electrical components, potentially biohazardous material, fumes, potentially harmful pressurized gases, chemicals and extreme cold. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate. Occasionally the noise level may be high for short durations.
