Provides pre-hospital care under the State of Wisconsin DHS Statutes. Care provided focuses on the unique needs of each patient and per approved protocols. Care provided may require working within other disciplines in order to meet the needs of patients, families, and significant others. Pre-hospital care is under the medical direction of the Medical Director. Care provided in the Emergency Department is under the supervision of the Emergency Department Physician.
Pace of the shift varies. Need to be able to move quickly and effectively transfer care to appropriate staff while responding to an EMS call. Coverage in the Emergency Department consists of 2 Paramedics, 2 RNs, and a Physician 24/7. A CNA in the department from 1000-2200. The ED has an approximate volume of 10,000 patients a year and the Ambulance approximately 700 calls per year. The ED consists of 7 beds and 1 Outpatient Room.
12 Hour Shifts. 8 Week Rotating Schedule. Some Weekends. 0700-1900 shift or 1900-0700 shift.
Min. one year EMS experience, previous ED experience helpful.
The completion of a licensed Paramedic Program.
Valid WI Driver's License, EMT-P, Current ACLS Certification, PALS within 6 months
