Position summaryWill consider a CST, EMT, or Nurse Technician for these roles. The Certified Surgical Technologist assists in the nursing care and preparation of cases and patients by performance of routine and delegated duties under the direction of a Registered Nurse. The incumbent performs duties related to case preparation and clean up, maintenance of supplies, assisting with transporting, and housekeeping duties. The Emergency Medical Technician-Basic (EMT) is a member of the emergency heath care team. This incumbent uses his/her skills when called upon, to provide quality patient care in the pre-hospital setting. The Nurse Technician is a current nursing student who performs designated tasks in carrying out the nursing care of the hospitalized person under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.Essential job functionsDaily Responsibilities-Performs Basic Life Support pre-hospital assessment and care. -Communicates and acts as a liaison between patient, family, physician, and other agencies, as required. -Assists with cleaning, stocking, and maintaining supplies and equipment. -Checks communication and Basic Life Support equipment for proper operation. -Maintains appropriate levels and quantities of supplies and medications, assuring assigned area is in a ready state at all times during assigned shift. -Performs tasks in the pre-hospital setting under the control of the Medical Director. Proper use, cleaning (or disposal) and maintenance of all Basic Life Support equipment. Minimum qualifications CST EducationHigh school diploma or equivalent required. Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist course. LicensureSuccessful completion of certification exam within one year of hire date. CPR certification required. OtherNot applicable.Minimum qualifications EMT EducationSuccessful completion of an accredited Emergency Medical Technician Basic Program LicensureMust hold certification from the Indiana State Emergency Medical Services Commision as an Emergency Medical Technician Basic. Must possess and maintain a valid Operator's License from the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles. CPR certification required. OtherMust have successfully completed American Heart Association's Health Care Provider CPR Course (or equivalent).Minimum qualifications Nurse Technician EducationCurrently enrolled in an accredited School of Nursing, with successful completion of a nursing fundamentals course.
