The Executive Vice President/Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a strategic business partner to the CEO, a key member of the senior leadership team and is responsible for the proactive financial management of the corporation. The CFO directs all aspects of financial operations and reporting for the Health Plan and its subsidiaries. Specific areas of responsibility include finance and accounting, treasury, actuarial, informatics and underwriting, financial analysis and rate setting, finance related regulatory interface, cash management and investments, budgeting, payroll, billing and accounts receivable, facilities, and risk management and insurance. The CFO provides, through direct reports, accurate and timely management reports enabling the organization to more aptly manage its growth, development and expenses and has a key leadership role in all merger & acquisition activity. The CFO also provides effective oversight of management and audit processes and assures that the most effective financial systems are in place from which to manage the day to day operations and the company s strategic future. The CFO provides the leadership necessary to recruit develop and retain the best financial executives within the organization who can be counted upon to bring about the results necessary, in a manner that emphasizes accuracy and timeliness of reporting to the board, its management committees, and staff. He/she also focuses on the future of the business, developing and implementing successful financial models for transacting tomorrow s business, which will ensure the continued success of the company.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Education: A Bachelor s degree in accounting or finance is required. A Master s degree in business, finance or health care administration or a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is strongly preferred. Experience: Significant financial management leadership with prior healthcare insurance experience including solid knowledge of trends and reimbursement. Demonstrated business partner experience at the most senior level. Progressive positions of greater responsibility through control, treasury and/or operations. Prior experience as a Chief Financial Officer of a complex and highly regulated business, preferably a provider-oriented health plan, preferred. Required Skills: Ability to successfully influence and motivate others in order to reach collaborative business solutions; Understands the importance of finance in supporting business strategies and decisions, maintains the integrity of the financial data, and exhibits the highest level of professionalism in the control systems and treasury functions; Strong strategic and conceptual orientation with advanced analytical skills and the ability to think logically and creatively to solve problems; Attention to detail and superior communication (verbal, written, presentation and negotiation) skills; Demonstrated ability to focus on our various constituencies, operate in an environment with changing priorities as determined by the customer, generate and consider new and different ideas/possibilities; Demonstrated ability to operate beyond the walls of the financial organization and serve as a resource for all operating and functional leaders; Skilled at getting individuals, teams and the organization to perform at a higher level and to embrace change.
