About the NYSCHP
The New York State Council of Health-system Pharmacists has represented New York State pharmacists who practice in hospitals and other health care settings since 1958. Pharmacy leaders from across the state comprise the NYSCHP Board of Directors, as well as its committees and officers for its nine affiliate chapters. These regional chapters provide networking, programming and leadership to pharmacists practicing in NY health care facilities. NYSCHP is active in the community involving itself in outreach programs in pharmacy schools, medical centers and teaching hospitals.
NYSCHP is actively involved in the legislative process on behalf of its members, in support of Collaborative Drug Therapy Management signed into law in 2011. NYSCHP strongly supports expansion of the scope of practice, regulation of technicians and expansion of immunization. NYSCHP monitors hundreds of bills ranging from drug labeling to professional licensure.
NYSCHP also has a related 501(c)(3) organization--the NYSCHP Research and Education Foundation. It provides charitable, educational and research opportunities for NYSCHP members to help increase public knowledge and understanding of the science of health-system pharmacy. This is accomplished in part through scholarships and grants for current and future practitioners.
