The Early Stage Commercialization Manager will be responsible for all commercial activities for assigned pipeline products in CNS including strategy development, planning, indication sequencing, target product profiles, forecasts and financials. Key responsibilities involve significant collaboration with other functional areas including Strategic Portfolio Management, Clinical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, Pharmaceutical Development, Scientific Operations, Legal Affairs, Finance, Business Development, Project Management, and others as appropriate. Manages the marketing assessment of new products and supports the commercial assessment of new products/current projects and activities related to strategic decision making in the identification, evaluation, selection and management of new product opportunities consistent with the Corporate Strategic Plan. Manages the commercial support to new product processes and initiatives, and influences strategy through the analysis of selected therapeutic markets. Analysis includes disease state review, therapeutic market analysis, unmet need identification, market force influence analysis, future competition, reimbursement and market access, and sales potential.
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in business or scientific discipline with demonstrated business skills and market assessment skills. Advanced degree in business or life sciences preferred. Must have a minimum of 8 + years with pharmaceutical business/marketing experience including comprehensive brand management and/or launching brand products in addition to strong clinical aptitude. Requires experience in all levels of pharmaceutical development from pipeline to on-market asset . Understanding of value drivers necessary for successful commercialization and how to implement into program. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously utilizing excellent interpersonal skills with an appreciation of cross cultural differences, excellent communication and presentation skills and the ability to work across a matrix organization. Ability to communicate commercial insights clearly to colleagues to guide drug development. Marketing experience with Central Nervous System therapies highly preferred. Intimate working knowledge of the drug development processes (NDA) developed through direct work experience. Must have technical management or leadership experience gained through drug/device development. Must possess a strong business sense with demonstrated capabilities to influence and manage teams. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and related electronic business tools is required.
