Temporary, part-time teaching faculty. Provide student teacher supervision for Elementary and/or Special Education. Courses are taught at Mansfield University or at sites in Bradford, Tioga, Potter, Lycoming, and/or Steuben (NY) counties. Courses may be taught during the day or in the evening. Course offering is contingent upon sufficient enrollment.
Minimum requirements: A master’s degree in Elementary and/or Special Education is generally required. Qualifications include the completion of a successful interview. Additional qualifications: Excellent communication skills (both oral and written); ability to adapt to changing technologies that support teaching and learning; and the ability to teach, evaluate and advise students. Demonstration, through past accomplishments and behaviors, the ability to support Mansfield University’s principles and values of Character, Scholarship, Culture, Service (http://www1.mansfield.edu/mansfield-creed) and the University’s strong student-centered vision and mission. A valid driver’s license is required. Conditions of employment include the receipt of original transcripts for all earned degrees and an acceptable background check report.
Effective teaching and advising skills; continued scholarly growth and service to the department, university, and community; effective communication; work cooperatively with others; appropriate use of electronic teaching technologies; ability to use software application programs such as word processing, spreadsheets, e-mail; and effective use of phone, keyboard and other office equipment. Must have the ability to travel. May be required to lift, stand, walk, reach with arms, etc.
Temporary, part-time positions for the 2013/14 Academic Year; Instructor rank. Salary is competitive and dependent on qualifications and experience.
