Ensures that the Education/Disability components are implemented in accordance with all Head Start, USDA and Child Care Licensing regulations. Supervises the Education staff. Ensures the Education/Disability staff is implementing effective parent engagement activities. Works as a Mentor Coach Specialist with teachers who are Early Literacy Protégés to improve classroom literacy practices. Assumes responsibility for overall center operations in the absence of the director, as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field. One year in a supervisory position and experience working with young children. Bilingual abil-ity in English/Spanish preferred. Interest and willingness to work with children with special needs. Not citation for child abuse or neglect. Limited travel re-quired. Strong organizational skills. Computer proficiency required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must pass physical and TB test. Ability to: travel, respond to emergency situa-tions, use personal computer, analyze and solve problems. Perform multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Complete paperwork, move and play with small children. Engage in occasional light lifting, pushing, carrying and pulling tasks.
