- Position Description:
Provides direct clinical supervision and instruction to nursing students in the area of Pediatrics in accordance with contracts with affiliated nursing programs . Assists with clinical placement of students. Assists with orientation of nursing students and faculty. Acts as a student advocate in the learning process. Creates an active learning environment. Supports the goals and objectives of the organization and the division. Collaborates with affiliating nursing programs, managers, staff, patients and families to provide clinical placements. Plans and implements educational activities to meet identified student learning needs, utilizing adult education principles. Evaluates student progress in accordance with school requirements. Promotes collaborative relationships among health care professionals. Participates in committees, task forces, meetings and activities to assist in the development of staff and students, ultimately resulting in improved care and patient/family education. Participates in activities that promote professional development and enhance the practice of nursing and education. Facilitates compliance with unit and department mandatory educational requirements for students and faculty.
Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Ohio . Master’s degree in Nursing, Education, or related field preferred or currently enrolled in and actively pursuing master’s degree. BLS certification and BLS Instructor certification required. Professional certification, computer competency, and pediatric experience preferred.
