Our Meter Services Department has an opening for an Electrical Engineer/Load Data Settlement Engineer to develop, implement, maintain and operate Liberty’s Utilities electric settlement load research and other systems while writing the required scripts to make the system perform as needed to complete the electric load settlement and load research functions.

Additional responsibilities include the following:
Meet daily monthly and yearly Independent System Operator - New England (ISO-NE) reporting schedules for hourly load, wholesale energy and installed capacity obligations (ICAP). Distribute the results to the ISO-NE and to the eligible electric power suppliers.
Troubleshoot data transfer, data interfaces and communication problems; work with IT and product vendors to resolve technical issues for all systems used in the Load data Services group.
Provide in-depth analysis and detailed methodologies on hourly energy and estimations using available data, analytical techniques, graphs and software tools.
Provide internal and external data requests timely by understanding business requirements and providing guidance on meter data requirements
Identify and recommend process improvement opportunities within the department and across the Load data services organization.
Work closely with Engineering to be sure any new meters installed on the system are configured correctly, tested and are performing as expected
Assist with the operation and maintenance of Itron’s MV90 and Field Collection System (FCS) data collection systems including data collection, data transfer, validation, estimating and editing of electronic interval data and monthly meter reads from remote locations around Liberty Utilities service territory for both the gas and electric market settlement systems. Assist with the development and maintenance of a web portal to allow large customers access to their interval data at near real time
Assist with the development of rate class average load shapes, metering precision analysis and rate class analysis for rate design to ensure a proper rate of return for the company
Provide support to other Load Data Services functions and maintain a high level of quality control for all processes
Provide support for reporting and compliance requirements for the New Hampshire Public Utilities Commission (NHPUC), to include developing testimony and testifying during regulatory proceedings as required

Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Information systems is required, an advanced degree is desirable.
Two years minimum work related experience required.
Understanding of electric and gas metering, power system operations, substation equipment, directional power flows and electrical systems is required.
Strong technical and analytical background including experience with the ISO New England market settlement, energy procurement and the operation of the electric grid in New England is required.
Demonstrated knowledge of computer information systems, web based applications, meter data collection systems and other systems required as part of the daily operation.
Experience with Microsoft Office products is required.
Ability to research, compile, document, organize, analyze and present data.
Ability to identify power system data abnormalities, understand trends and data relationships to utilize best sources of interval data in problem identification and resolution.
Demonstrate a proficiency in technical problem solving.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Available to work off hours and Storm Restoration assignments.
Comfortable speaking in front of groups and making presentations.
Valid driver’s license.
