Electrical design, development, programming, and validation of automated production test systems. Production test systems will test high performance multi-gigabit cable assembly products. Testing will utilize but not limited to communication analyzers, digital oscilloscopes, pulse generations, TDR sampling heads, bit error rate testers, and network analyzers. Develop work instructions and new manufacturing processes for using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point. Strong verbal and written communication skills that demonstrate the ability to express complex technical concepts clearly and concisely. Perform other related duties as assigned by management
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Develop automated production test systems for high performance cable assembly products. Development includes writing test procedures, designing impedance controlled test circuit boards, and creating mechanical test fixtures
2.Extensive programming using Microsoft Visual Basic, National Instruments LabWindows, and/or UC Berkeley Open-Source TCL.
3.High speed multi-gigabit electrical testing, verification, reporting writing of standard and custom cable assemblies. Testing requires experience with digital sampling oscilloscopes, communication analyzers, pattern generators, network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and bit error rate testers required.
4.Interface with the high speed cable development teams in the development and implementation of work instructions, bill of materials, routers, and test reports for new and ongoing products. Multi-discipline team includes customers, suppliers, electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, quality, and marketing.
5.Understand, support, and contribute to Molex TQM and Quality / Environmental Management Systems by following approved policies and procedures
6.Other duties as required by management.
Required: B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering
Preferred: MS EE
WORK RELATED EXPERIENCE:
Required: Minimum of 3-5 years job experience
Design experience with electromagnetic transmission lines, schematic capture, PCB layout, and component sourcing will be helpful.
Expertise in the use of analytical tools, (Mentor Graphics, Protel, ORCAD), AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point required.
Working knowledge of network analyzers, sampling oscilloscopes, and high performance multi-gigabit testing.
Experience with the design of transmission line circuitry, hands-on PCB layout is necessary.
Strong verbal and written communication skills that demonstrate the ability to express complex technical concepts clearly and concisely.
Analytical ability to apply logical reasoning, test assumptions observes results and makes corrections.
CAD experience is a plus.
