Internships and Co-Ops
If you would like the opportunity to . . .
• approach design in unconventional ways,
• apply your knowledge while working on significant and complex projects,
• work alongside professionals known for advanced engineering solutions,
• observe how a successful engineering firm operates,
• establish ties that could solidify your professional future, and
• learn within a friendly, supportive environment
. . . consider an AEI Internship or Co-op.
Affiliated Engineers (AEI) is a nationwide firm that employs more than 600 people in the design of mechanical, electrical, piping/plumbing, technology service, fire protection, and instrumentation and controls systems. AEI also performs energy modeling, sustainable design, lighting design, process engineering, commissioning, construction field services, cost estimating, and master planning.
As an AEI Internship or Co-op Program participant you will work with engineering professionals on projects such as central utility plants, hospitals, research labs, and data centers. You will experience a team environment that emphasizes collaboration and planning beginning at the earliest stages of the design process.
These are skills that will be assets throughout your career.
AEI Internship and Co-op Programs
As an Internship or Co-op Program participant, you will work with your AEI mentor to identify learning objectives and help you understand your role on each project. In addition, your AEI discipline and project team members will be happy to answer your questions as you work together on a number of different projects.
Industry speakers, tours, presentations
During your first summer with AEI, you will attend presentations by industry experts and tours of project sites to help you develop an understanding of all areas of the firm and the industry.
