ELECTRICAL RELIABILITY ENGINEER
The Electrical Reliability Engineer - Power Distribution works closely with the maintenance, operations and project organizations to lead efforts in supporting the Nylon Intermediates manufacturing facilities at the Victoria, TX plant by identifying, developing and implementing improvements to reduce unplanned events and improve equipment reliability.

Lead the electrical mechanical integrity program for the Victoria site
Provide day-to-day electrical engineering support to operations, turnaround, maintenance, and project groups with run-plant and improve-plant activities
Provide tactical and strategic support for the electrical distribution and utilization system equipment
Engineer and manage the installation, maintenance, repair and testing of a wide range of electrical equipment such as; protective relaying, critical power systems, generators, motors, transformers, control panels, cables, temporary power equipment and associated MCC and switchgear in the plant
Develop economical and technical justifications to support capital projects with equipment replacements and reliability improvements
Work with project managers, design contractors, and vendors to develop scopes of work and final design for instrument and electrical repairs and improvement projects
Develop strategies and implement maintenance plans for high, medium and low voltage electrical equipment including electrical distribution cables, 480V switch gear, breakers, transformers, critical power equipment, uninterrupted power supplies, motors, electric heat tracing devices, variable frequency drives
Develop and implement reliability strategies for critical electrical equipment using Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) and standards for preventative/predictive maintenance
Participate in area process hazard analysis (PHA), and incident investigations to ensure a safe and reliable operation
Advise and assist on-site electricians, instrument technicians, lead engineers, planners and supervisors on electrical and/or instrument repair scopes of work
Mentor new electrical engineers and I&E mechanics in reliability tools and electrical equipment maintenance best practices
Lead root cause analysis RCA to evaluate the causes of equipment failures; recommend and implement corrective actions to prevent future I&E failures
Work effectively across all levels of the plant organization, individually and with cross-functional teams and use organizational and planning skills to set goals and get results
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from a University with an accredited engineering program
Working knowledge of National Electrical Code, NFPA-70E and all OSHA electrical compliance standards
8 or more years' experience as an electrical power distribution engineer in a petrochemical industry
Experience using SAP maintenance module
Experience in design of medium and high voltage electrical equipment, switchgear, and power distribution systems
Experience in reliability tools such as Root Cause Failure Analysis and Reliability Centered Maintenance

Accessing multiple floors of open structures by stairway (includes egress)
Accessing equipment by ladder or stairway
Entering and movement within tank farm dikes
Entering and movement upon unpaved areas
Operating company vehicles
Manipulating and donning respiratory protective equipment
Donning flammable resistant clothing
Periodic workdays in excess of 8 hours
Periodic outside work in extreme temperatures at various times throughout the year
