To ensure that the site electrical department personnel and departmental procedures are in compliance with the State of Michigan Electrical Code/Regulations. To ensure that all electrical/electronic components, equipment and systems are in optimum working order.
Maintain the site electrical apprenticeship program that is in compliance with the State of Michigan requirements.
Monitor all site electrical work to certify that it is in compliance with State of Michigan electrical code.
Provide personal training schedules for all site electrical department personnel.
Work with the Electrical Trainer to provide a well rounded training program that meets both site and State of Michigan compliance needs.
Provide that all State of Michigan permitting and licensing requirements are in order.
Participate in and provide training as appropriate. Michigan Electrical code etc….
Maintain site electrical apprenticeship training budget.
Diagnoses and corrects malfunctions of electrical / electronic components of OSB production machines
Programs and operates test equipment
Installs, sets up, calibrates instrumentation controls
Schedules and performs preventative maintenance on equipment
Plans projects utilizing knowledge of technical requirements, analysis of blueprints and electrical schematics
Builds metal frames and stand for electrical equipment
Skills, knowledge, abilities:
Michigan Masters License and any other certifications necessary to be designated as the site Master Electrician under the State of Michigan regulations. Must be able to secure a Facility Electrical Contractors License.
Ability to manage training programs and budget.
Ability to interact with regulatory agencies.
Excellent diagnostic and mechanical skills
Working knowledge of electronic diagnostic tools
Excellent knowledge of plant / product / production process
Good safety record and thorough knowledge of current safety rules and regulation
Knowledge of computers and computerized controls
Ability to understand and apply information gained from technical manuals, blueprints and electrical schematics
Knowledge of operations of tools such as torches, welders, grinders, and hand tools
High school diploma or equivalent
Completion of State of Michigan Electrical Apprenticeship program
BS degree is desirable
8 years experience in the Electrical field
2 years experience as industrial electrician
Or any combination of experience and training that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position.
OSB mill work environment
