Part of a team of development engineers responsible for creating next generation 100G & 400G parallel optical transceivers. Specific responsibilities include: Electro Optic modeling of Fiber optic transceivers including but not limited to: Customer's PCB, host board connectors, Transceiver PCBs, Flex circuits, ICs, lasers and optical fibers; verify and/or optimize the design work of other engineers by the use of the models and communicate results to other groups such as IC development or laser development teams.
Education: MS degree or foreign degree equivalent in Electrical Engineering
Experience: 2 years in job offered
Alternative: Will accept PhD degree or foreign degree equivalent in EE or Photonics in lieu of MS and 2 years experience or any suitable combination of education, training and experience.
Background must include:
• Laser physics
• Data communication theory and digital signal processing
• Modeling and simulation skills using commercial
software such as ADS, SystemVue, Optsim and Matlab
• Transceiver engineering
• Laboratory measurements and data analysis
