Modus is a leading national litigation support and discovery management organization. The Electronic Data Processor will be primarily tasked with processing electronic data for our clients using a myriad of software and database applications. Other duties include but are not limited to traveling to client locations, collecting data in a forensically sound and defensible manner, working closely with account managers and their clients to help map a successful case strategy when it comes to dealing with electronically stored information (ESI), communicating and documenting multiple steps on multiple projects simultaneously, and following specific and detailed processing protocols.


Purpose: To plan, organize and control production to ensure that goods are produced efficiently, on time, within budget and to standard. Employee will work with other Production employees, the Sales team and the Operations Manager to provide information and support on projects from concept to delivery. This is a full-time production operational environment. This position is responsible for the conversion of data and images (whether it be paper or electronic) to client specified final delivery format using computer and application skills in Law and other tools.



Review and understand all instructions / terminology related to the work order and be able to perform all duties relating to the work order.

Manage workflow to ensure client expectations and deadlines are met involving prioritization, delegation and negotiation.

Load and maintain data, video, and image collections on network in an organized fashion. Including Backup / Archive of network.

Process data for review using electronic evidence discovery software tools such as LAW and eCapture.

Manipulate data using various text editing and comparative software tools.

Troubleshoot litigation support applications and databases as well as prepare and transfer data, video and images to stand-alone computers for deposition, court proceedings, trial, or presentation.

Prepare images and data for production in a variety of litigation support software formats.

Prepare analyses of data and data collections for case teams, and perform quality checks on data and images

QC work from production to ensure client specifications are met.

Media Management (Media Creation, uploading, downloading, or copying) Also including verification of correct statistical information on labels.

FTP usage such as uploading and downloaded from clients and DC as well as credential assignments. Interface with clients as needed (Verification / Clarification of processing specs).

Meet deadlines and work with Sales and Management to resolve problems as they arise.

Communicate and be proactive when deadlines may be close or are going to be missed.

Complete all necessary billing information on the PTS sheet including all resources used.

Support the DMS production environment not only working with electronic files but paper files as needed including but not limited to Scanning, Copying, QC, Blowbacks, Boards, Endorsements, OCR, Exports, Imports, Conversions, FTP usage, etc.

Must have considerable experience using Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred, but not required:

LexisNexis’ LAW Pre-Discovery Software experience.

Microsoft SQL experience.

Forensic retrieval/imaging experience and/or CCE certification.

Certifications is data collections, computer examination and pre-discovery tools ( i.e. LAW Pre-Discovery, IPRO or eCapture.
