The position is located at the Pacific Missile Range Facility (PMRF), Barking Sands in Kauai. The position requires U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Clearance (Secret) .

Under minimum supervision, this bargaining unit position Electronic Technician B will troubleshoot, repair, inspect, overhaul, modify, calibrate, install, operate and perform other related tasks on a wide range of Telemetry electronic systems and equipment as directed.

MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES:
Performs periodic inspections and maintenance tasks in accordance with published procedures and/or OEM guidelines. Documents results of all maintenance actions in systems and equipment records.

Troubleshoots and repairs systems/equipment by reading and interpreting electronic schematics and using simple and complex test equipment.

Installs, checks calibrate and perform acceptance tests on new and relocated systems and equipment as directed.

When directed prepares and submits periodic reports.

Set-up, checks-out, operates and monitors systems and equipment in support of Range Operations . Responds to changing operational requirements when directed.

Assists in preparing and developing new procedures, procedural changes and modification proposals.

Maintains configuration control on assigned systems.

Perform all tasks of lower-rated technicians in this category.

Performs other duties as required.

Will operate the following equipment but not limited to:
Telemetry Antenna Systems, down converters and multicouplers with Data tracking receivers.

Frequency spectrum: "P", Low "L", High "L". "S" and High "S" bands.

SIS, Sensor Integration Systems

Microdyne receivers, combiners and spectrum display units.

Mixers, multiplexers, discriminators and bit synchronizers.

Acroamatics telemetry data processors, format synchronizers digital to analog converters and Sun workstations/TM network data view display.

Gould TA-4000, TA-6000 chart recorders are menu driven with internal processors.

METRUM 97 analog magnetic tape records and VLDS VHS digital records with AMOR multiplexers controlled by a personal computer.

Associated telemetry equipment would involve DSQ-50 miss-distance receiving set with the sonograph video doppler.

Lorel VEU video expansion unit with the NHS video recorders.

Test equipment, oscilloscopes, signals generators, analyzers, meters and BERTS testers.

W MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
High School or equivalent

Two (2) Year Technical School or equivalent.

Experience:
Five (5) years of progressive experience in a related field with a minimum of two (2) years experience in the specific field of assignment is required.

Able to function in a wide range of assignments related to electronics by following established procedures.

Fundamental knowledge of basic electronics, computers, electronic equipment troubleshooting and repair.

Thorough knowledge of Telemetry Theory, systems, principles and IRIG Standards.

Possess and demonstrate knowledge of electronics theory and be proficient in reading and interpreting mechanical and electronics schematics, manuals and procedures for troubleshooting and repair to the component level.

Must be able to use, apply and understand complex test and measuring equipment.

Must have a current soldering certificate from a commercial firm, technical school or Navy School.

Must posses the following PC skills:
MICROSOFT OFFICE: Word, Outlook, Excel, and Windows.

JOB TYPE: Full-Time Union

SECURITY CLEARANCE: Must have, or within 90 days be able to obtain and maintain, the appropriate security clearance.
