Position Summary : Performs organizational level servicing, scheduled and unscheduled avionic and electronics maintenance on Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) including inspection, troubleshooting, repair, and analysis of aircraft electronic systems, subsystems, associated components, ground control stations (GCS), ground data terminals (GDT), Fiber Optic data lines with working knowledge of Fixed Site Satcom Terminal (FSST), Satcom Earth Terminal Subsystem (SETSS) ground satellite systems and test equipment. Manages and assigns personnel to as Communication Security (COMSEC), Foreign Object Damage (FOD), and Data Integrity Team (DIT) ancillary program monitors.

Must possess excellent organizational skills in prioritizing workload to meet aircraft delivery schedule and ancillary program management. Supervises, conducts training and provides technical expertise to lower level Technicians. Administers level I and II discipline (verbal and written counseling), adjusts grievances as the first line Supervisor, and makes recommendations to hire, transfer, suspend, lay-off, recall, promote, discharge, assign, and reward employees. Conducts and documents employee performance reviews.

Expert knowledge of UAS unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, multi-meters, dial indicators, micrometers, and other special tools and equipment. Uses and interprets technical orders (TO’s) and technical data to apply expert technical knowledge to identify, troubleshoot, and diagnose complex maintenance problems and determine appropriate corrective action. Enforces compliance with policies, procedures and rules. Monitors and supervises UAS maintenance activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervises the performance of maintenance on UAS aircraft, GCS, GDT, UAS systems, UAS sub-systems, Single Bay Station, ground satellite systems and related UAS equipment.

Interprets inspection findings and determines appropriate corrective action.

Supervises and adjusts, aligns and rigs UAS/GCS avionic and electronic systems.

Supervises and removes and installs UAS/GCS avionic and electronic system components and cables (copper, fiber, etc.) and conducts functional and operational tests.

Supervises and performs aircraft jacking, lifting, towing, and manual movement.

Supervises and inspects and checks components for clearances, tolerances, proper installation and operation.

Operates and inspects powered and non-powered aerospace ground equipment.

Reviews and completes aircraft maintenance forms and enters data into the Integrated Maintenance Data System (IMDS), responsible to ensure all data is accurate and complete.

Supervises and performs electronic and avionic tasks related to aircraft launch and recovery.

Prepares and submits material and product deficiency reports.

Coordinates maintenance plans and schedules and distributes work assignments to lower level technicians to meet operational commitments.

Supervises compliance with published safety guidelines.

Reviews maintenance data collection summaries to determine trends. Provides recommendations and solutions to negative trends.

Interprets and discusses inspection findings, and develops and recommends action to correct deficiencies.

Coordinates with supply, operations, and other support activities to improve procedures and resolve problems.

Plans, performs, conducts, and coordinates UAS maintenance training.

Assigns Technicians to conduct on-the-job training.

Serves as a Maintenance Instructor and assists in curriculum development as required.

Monitors and enforces COMSEC regulations and ensures the security of all cryptographic equipment and aircraft/GCS components at all times.

Prepares, Reviews, and Forwards DIT analysis and corrective action reports.

Directs routine FOD inspections are ensures proper completion and documentation.

Ensures work areas are clean and orderly.

May be required to meet typical Cross Utilization Training (CUT) qualifications to include Supply Management, Tool Control and Accountability, TMDE Management, Hazardous Waste Management, Technical Order Library Management, Aircraft Launch and Recovery, Aircraft Servicing, Aircraft Fuel/De-Fuel, Aircraft Movement/Towing.

Performs other duties as assigned or directed.

Required Experience

Eight (8) years of Electronic System Maintenance experience. Equivalent to USAF 9 Skill-Level. Five (5) years of leadership and management experience.

Current Secret Security Clearance. US Citizen or proper immigration status.

Must be willing to travel overseas for an extended period of time as required by the company. Must meet fitness for duty requirements.
