Electronics/Automation Technician III

provides technical support to the organization. Position reports to the assigned supervisor.

Duties include:
• Perform root cause analysis through testing of returned & local electronic systems/subsystems using standard & specialized test equipment
• Review analysis to suggest design improvements for current & future designs
• Design & build testers for assemblies, board & component testing
• Read datasheets, wiring diagrams, schematics & work from engineering instruction for assembling electronic prototypes
• Support onsite prototype unit builds with PCB assembly & electrical harness building
• Maintain electronics lab equipment & tools
• RF testing & troubleshooting using network & spectrum analyzers
• Strong attention to detail to meet IPC-610 Class II standards
• Inspect and perform quality checks on assemblies
• May lead/direct the work of others

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 7 years related technical experience
• Ability to analyze, problem-solve & apply best design practices to troubleshoot designs & ensure successful product introduction
• Ability to capture data & waveforms from electrical/electronic systems & components using digital oscilloscopes, multimeters & other standard lab equipment
• Excellent soldering skills, particularly SMT
• Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic test equipment including applications & programming
• Ability to troubleshoot electrical & electronic circuits to locate failed or malfunctioning software

• Military electronics experience
• Electronic board manufacturing experience
• IPC/J-standard experience
• Electrical harness knowledge
• RF testing & troubleshooting experience a plus using network analyzers and spectrum analyzers
