The Emergency Admitting Assistant/Treatment Area Coordinator provides clerical and administrative support to the Clinical Staff in the Emergency Department. Answers phones; initiates external pages; greets, assists, and directs patients and visitors; uses computer system to register patients, maintain area census, obtain inpatient beds,and dismiss patients from the system. Schedules follow up appointments and tests. Processes medical record
paperwork and obtains ancillary services for the clinical staff. Uses strong interpersonal skills and customer service skills to assist and interact with physicians, nurses, patients, families, visitors, etc.
Shift: Day Shift - 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, 40 hours/week, rotating weekends.


Strong customer service skills. 1-2 years administrative/secretarial experience required. Previous healthcare experience a plus. Computer proficiency and ability to retrieve and enter information into Hospital's database. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a hectic and often chaotic environment. Excellent customer service skills. Ability to type 40 words per minute.
