Kennestone is a 84 bed, Level II Trauma Center, making WellStar Kennestone the only designated Trauma Center in WellStar Health System’s five county primary service area (Bartow, Cherokee, Cobb, Douglas and Paulding Counties). With its emergency department of three trauma rooms and 63 exam rooms, it is one of the busiest in the state. Our 633 licensed bed hospital has been recognized for high performance in Diabetes and Endocrinology, Nephrology, Orthopedics, Gastroenterology, Neurology and Neurosurgery by US News Best Hospitals. Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse functions under the direction of the Nurse Manager and Resource Nurse and is responsible for implementing the nursing process based on expanded knowledge and experience. The nurse is responsible for:
  • Coordinating and providing safe patient care with an understanding and awareness of age appropriate and culturally aware needs
  • Addressing the patient/family biological, emotional, developmental, psychosocial and education needs
  • Is responsible for delivery of patient care in complex situations, coordination of patient care activities, staff development and professional self-development
  • Is able to independently perform job functions

We are currently seeking experienced RNs for our Kennestone Regional Medical Center facility.

Required Minimum Education : Graduate of an accredited/approved school of nursing: Baccalaureate degree in nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing preferred; National certification in area of specialty preferred

Required Minimum Licensure/Certification : Current/active license as a registered nurse in the State of Georgia; Must have a current BLS card from the American Heart Association on the first day of employment in position.

Required Minimum Experience : Experience with direct patient care preferred.

Required Minimum Skills : Ability to read, write and speak English language, optimize the use of technology to support clinical care and holds basic computer skills; Strong interpersonal, collaborative skills along with customer service skills required; Ability to function in a fast paced environment and respond to emergencies in using a decisive, composed and respectful manner; Possess excellent time management skills; practices nursing using evidence and analytical skills along with possessing strong critical thinking skills.
