The Emergency Medical Technician - Ambulance (EMT-A) drives an emergency vehicle, responds to medical emergency scenes, provides emergency medical care, monitors patients during transport and continues treatment as needed. The EMT-A coordinates public safety personnel in emergency situations and supervises and directs the activities and educational/clinical experiences of assigned observers and students.
-High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
-Completion of formal advanced training program in basic life support
-Continuing education to maintain annual certification
-Valid Indiana driver's license with ability to meet Wishard's driving policy requirements before hire
-Indiana certification as an Emergency Medical Technician - Ambulance -Defensive Driving Course certification
-Current American Heart Association BLS certification
