Works under the supervision of the department manager and supervisor and the online medical director. Is responsible for providing quality care in transporting patients to/from
or to/from other outlying facilities not requiring 911 assistance. In addition, must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to age of the patient served. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span. Must also possess the ability to collect data reflective of the patient's status and assist with the interpretation of appropriate information needed to identify each patients requirements relative to age specific needs as describes in the departmental policy and procedure guide. Must be a confident leader who can accept the challenge and responsibility entailed. Must be able to function independently to high level of care within a structured environment that is constantly changing.
Successful completion of paramedic or EMT-I training course and maintains a Virginia or National Registry Certification.
EMT-I or Paramedic Virginia or National Registry Certification.
Minimum of one year of field experience required.
