The Employee Relations Partner is responsible for working with all levels of employees within a geographic region to provide day to day employee relations support. This includes coaching and counseling our managers and employees on issues related to performance, conflict resolution, policy interpretation and workplace laws. The ER Partner will frequently partner with legal counsel and will take the lead on conducting all internal investigations, providing solutions/recommendations and mediating issues involving employee matters. The selected individual must have a solid understanding of employment law, HR best practices, the external environment, industry as well as First Data's businesses to operate proactively on behalf of client organizations and increase our ability to mitigate risk for the organization. In addition to providing day to day support, this individual will be responsible for analyzing metrics to identify trends and opportunities resulting in recommendations and development of tools, practices and educational programs which drive consistency and strengthen management capabilities.

Job Specific Responsibilities

Manage all day to day ER Activities

Coach/advise managers on issues related to performance management and policy application

Mediate issues involving employee matters

Conduct all workplace investigations

Develop tools, guidelines and practices which drive consistency and efficiency in our management practices

Assess trends and develop recommendations for strategic action plans that will strengthen management capabilities

Provide strategic partnership to HR colleagues which increases the ability to proactively mitigate risk to the organization

Lead and participate in cross functional teams which are designed to drive plans associated with our strategic priorities, objectives and goals
Candidate Requirements

The successful candidate will possess 5-7 years of Human Resources Generalist and/or Employee Relations experience

Broad understanding of employment law at the state and federal levels as well as other aspects of HR including talent management, talent acquisition, compensation and benefits

Demonstrated experience and expertise in effectively influencing managers and business partners in the successful achievement of business and Human Resources initiatives

Proven ability to achieve results by leveraging the support of an extended HR team including Centers of Excellence and HR Business Partners to provide consistent, reliable, high quality support to the organization

Display exceptional problem solving and change management skills as well as a history of solid judgment decisions

Highly developed interpersonal skills, courage to challenge the status quo in the pursuit of business success and the ability to influence at all levels to point of commitment are needed

Experience in presenting findings and recommendations to key executives

Excellent analytical skills with a strong working knowledge of problems solving, root cause analysis and associated solution implementation

Ability to work independently while also being able to work in a cross functional team

Strong facilitation, oral and written communication skills

Ability to handle multiple priorities and to meet deadlines in a timely fashion
