A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Prefer 4 year degree in related field. Minimum of 2 years’ experience working with adults with Mental Health issues and Intellectual/ Developmental Disabilities preferred but not required. Required to have a valid North Carolina driver’s license, good driving record and be insurable with reliable transportation.
Immediate part-time periodic position (20-30 hours/week) for an Employment Specialist/Job Coach to work in Wayne County and surrounding areas. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule/hours. Travel will be required. Seeking energetic, self-motivated, hard working person to join our team to obtain employment sites and provide supports to individuals with disabilities in community based employment. The primary function is to secure community based employment for individuals with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities and Mental Health issues. As a part of finding suitable employment for individuals, the Employment Specialist will complete assessments and provide community based job development and intensive training on the job site with individuals supported. Excellent communication, organizational and computer skills are required. Maintain case records as required by licensing and funding bodies’ standards and regulations. Will be required to work in multiple work environments as dictated by the employment sites where individuals supported are employed.
