This is a Part-time position.

Location Wilmington, NC (Columbus/Brunswick County and surrounding areas)

Qualifications A high school diploma or equivalent is required. A four year degree and a minimum of 2 years’ experience working with adults with disabilities is preferred but not required. Must have a valid North Carolina driver’s license, good driving record and be insurable with reliable transportation. Previous experience working with MH and DD populations preferred. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule and hours, including weekends and holidays and travel will be required.

Responsibilities Seeking energetic, self-motivated, self-starter and hard working person to join our team to provide supports to individuals with disabilities in community based employment. Immediate part time position for an Employment Specialist to work in Columbus and Brunswick County and surrounding areas. This position may lead to full time employment. The primary function is to secure community based employment for individuals with disabilities. As part of finding suitable employment there will be assessments, job development and intensive training on the job site. Excellent communication, organizational and computer skills are required. Must be able to maintain case records as required by licensing and funding bodies’ standards and regulations and must be able to work independently. Will be required to work in multiple work environments as dictated by the employment sites where individuals supported are employed. Must be willing to work flexible schedule/hours, including weekends and holidays as mandated by the schedule/hours of individual’s employment. Travel will be required for this position. Required to work with individuals with criminal backgrounds, felony convictions and/or history of imprisonment.
