This position is located in Las Vegas, NV
Reports to the designated manager, OA/CTS. Responsible for determining student qualifications for placement, conducting placement activities and follow up, in compliance with government and management directives.
Identify potential jobs, schools, military or other training program placements for terminating students and conduct job development activities; follow up with separated students and place them within established time limits; oversee follow-up with graduates during 12 month service period.
Directly place students to meet DOL and center contractual placement goals; verify and document all placements efforts according to requirements including the regular updating of CIS case notes.
Collaborate with and assist other contracted placement agencies in employer development and follow-up of student placement.
Develop and prepare lesson plans; instruct students about employability issues and transition to employment.
Prepare placement reports and provide feedback on student performance to center management.
Maintain regular communications with assigned CTT instructors to include visits to assigned CTT areas.
Meet with students in CTR II; initiate portfolios and begin career planning.
Coordinate transition services for exiting students; develop and maintain contacts with agencies and resources to meet student transition needs; follow up with assigned students.
Assist with and participate in arranging speakers, employer meetings, and other events related to employment opportunities.
Develop and deliver curricula for students participating in career preparation and cover transition readiness activities, as assigned.
Assist in transporting students to work sites off center.
As assigned, develop and identify potential work based learning sites; facilitate and evaluate student assignments and progress; maintain all agreements between the center, work site and student; arrange for and monitor schedules, meals, and transportation for students.
Participate in career development and assessment panels.
Provide positive, quality customer services to students, staff and other center customers.
Participate in student employability programs and activities.
Support and promote center zero tolerance policies.
Promote the development of Career Success Standards by modeling appropriate behaviors, mentoring students where necessary and monitoring both positive and negative behaviors through interventions.
Maintain accountability of students and property; adhere to safety practices.
It is expected that the incumbent shall perform other duties as assigned within his/her capabilities as determined by management.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or four years experience working with youth required. One year experience in sales, marketing, or counseling services. Excellent written and verbal communications skills and computer proficiency also required. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
