DESCRIPTION

Works with: Senior Energy Analyst, Salespeople, Project Manager, Manager, Energy Professional Services, Executive Vice President and General Manager

Job Summary: Manage individual energy conservation measures development including cost and scope for a broad range of technologies. Accountable for ECMs' scope of work, costs, savings, and incentives, schedule and budget. Responsible for review of 3rd party engineering drawings for compliance with energy program requirements, owner project requirements and State requirements. Will review and level vendor and contractor bids with input from the energy and implementation teams.

DUTIES

  • Responsible for the timely completion of assigned projects and client satisfaction.
  • Plan and analyze assigned projects, establishes schedules and project parameters and sets procedures to accomplish objectives, involving complex supply and demand side energy applications.
  • Communicates with clients and their representatives, including building owners, mechanical contractors, other trades, subcontractors, and field support staff.
  • Examines and reviews contracts and estimates by performing risk analysis and developing risk plans.
  • Ensures compliance with internal contracting process.
  • Establishes an operations budget for assigned projects by revising the original estimate based on validated project scope.
  • Prepares sub-contractor request for quotation's (RFQ) including: scope statements, plans and milestones dates, specs, bonding requirements, and billing schedule of values.
  • Receives and qualifies subcontractor proposals, supervises work of project assigned staff, subcontractors and installers.
  • Meets with contractors and owners to discuss the scope of project, budget, performance and close-out.
  • Supports the sales function by assisting with quotes preparation and proposal.
  • Ensures that quality standards are established for assigned projects.
  • Maintains client satisfaction by investigating concerns, implementing corrective action, and communicating with clients and assigned staff.
  • Establishes a professional relationship with the client and interfaces constantly to maintain accurate status reports and project reviews.
  • Innovative ECM development to meet & exceed client goals of energy/cost reduction, greenhouse gas reduction, self-funding criteria, and state/federal incentive approvals.
  • Flexibility to work outside normal work hours/weekends as required.
  • Knowledge of stand-alone ECMs as well as system ECMs.
  • Knowledge of the affects of individual ECMs on the entire building/campus systems.

  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors and the general public
  • Communicate verbally and in writing between clients/suppliers and relevant staff, and interpret and respond clearly and effectively to spoken requests over the phone or in person, and to verbal or written instructions. Provide accurate and timely information
  • Maintain regular consistent and professional attendance, punctuality, personal appearance, and adherence to relevant health & safety procedures
  • Pursue personal development of skills and knowledge necessary for the effective performance of the role.
  • Attend training and to develop relevant knowledge, techniques and skills
  • Adhere to health and safety policy, and other requirements relating to care of equipment
  • Other responsibilities as required.
QUALIFICATIONS

  • Professional Engineer
  • MBA preferred
  • CEM preferred
  • CAD Experience
  • Conceptual Estimating
  • Experience with energy modeling
  • Defining and validating project scope and cost
  • Review of Design Documents and Specification
  • Operational analysis of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems with 5-10 years experience.
  • Must be able to multi-task, openly communicate, work well with others and carry a positive attitude.
  • This position requires approximately 50% local travel.
Ideal Candidate will possess:
  • Experience with Small Scale CoGeneration
  • Knowledge of state & federal incentive programs
  • CAPM or PMP Certification
  • Certified Energy Manager (CEM)
  • Self-driven, results-oriented with a positive outlook and a clear focus on high quality and business profit.
  • Knowledge of Water Conservation ECMs
  • Performance or mechanical contracting (PC) project management experience
  • Energy Modeling Experience
