Energy Services Account Rep. II: $6,846 to $9,175 MONTHLY (26 PAY PERIODS ANNUALLY)

THE POSITION

The Human Resources Department is accepting applications for the position of Energy Services Account Representative I/II. The normal work schedule will be Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. A flex schedule may be available.

DEFINITION

To perform professional analytical work in the development and implementation of energy efficiency, conservation, renewable energy, and demand-side resource management programs for residents and businesses within the City; to research, develop and implement marketing strategies designed to promote such programs and encourage new and continuing customer participation; and to receive and respond to customer questions related to such programs.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS

Energy Services Account Representative I – This is the entry level class in the Energy Services Account Representative series. This class is distinguished from the journey level by the performance of the more routine tasks and duties assigned to positions within this series. Employees at this level are not expected to perform with the same independence of direction and judgment on matters allocated to the journey level. Since this class is typically used as a training class, employees may have only limited or no directly related work experience. Employees work under general supervision while learning job tasks.

Energy Services Account Representative II – This is the journey level class within the Energy Services Account Representative series and is distinguished from the I level by the assignment of the full range of duties. Employees at this level receive only occasional instruction or assistance as new, unusual or unique situations arise and are fully aware of the operating procedures and policies within the work unit. Positions in this class are flexibly staffed and are normally filled by advancement from the I level.

Experience and Training

Experience:
  • One year of responsible professional marketing, sales, or customer support experience in a technical environment. Experience in an energy services industry is desirable.
AND

Training:
  • Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in marketing, business administration, public administration, engineering or a related field.
License and Certificate:
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid California driver's license.
Energy Services Account Representative II

In addition to the qualifications for the Energy Services Account Representative I:

Experience and Training

Experience:
  • Three years of responsible experience performing duties similar to that of an Energy Services Account Representative Account I with the City of Roseville.
AND

Training:
  • Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in marketing, business administration, public administration, engineering or a related field.
License and Certificate

  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid California driver's license.
SUPPLEMENTAL QUESTIONNAIRE

1. Please discuss your project management experience in developing and directing a customer program with a technical component. Please discuss issues encountered, and how you resolved those issues.

2. Provide an example of your experience with a marketing and communication project. What did you learn from that project?

3. What are the most difficult aspects about working as part of a team to complete a project? How do you ensure these issues do not negatively impact the project? Provide personal experience as examples.

4. Please discuss your experience managing consultants/contractors. Discuss the issues you encountered, and how you resolved those issues.
