Coordinate and execute betterment capital and O&M projects, interfacing with plant production, project personnel and others that may have a stake in the service or its outcome
  • Assist in unit and equipment performance testing, project planning, execution, start-up and close-out
  • Provide project/maintenance troubleshooting (technical issue resolution) so that concerns and problems are identified and addressed in a timely manner
  • Develop alternatives and recommendations on actions to minimize impacts of identified situations
  • Provide technical oversight of engineering activities of external firms, including development of work scopes, solicitation and evaluation of proposals, project planning and controls, review of deliverables, adherence to design change process, construction package development, installation support, start-up assistance and project operations and maintenance integration.
  • Lead/Assist in Root Cause Analysis of plant component failures
  • Foster Entergy’s Continuous Improvement program and assist with implementations
  • Participate in equipment assessment process to determine the condition of equipment
  • Assist plant with pursuit of goals and competitive strategies
  • Opportunities for full project management responsibilities including budgeting and financials
  • Short duration design support
  • Lead / Assist plant with following all regulatory compliance (SOX, NERC, Safety, and Environmental)

  • **The position will be filled with an Engineer I, II, III, or Sr. based on qualifications and experience. **

    Minimum BS Mechanical Engineering Degree
    Proficient technical expertise with computer software and database development
    Skills in engineering analysis, problem solving, equipment condition assessment, mechanical design. Knowledge of fluid and thermal dynamics of power cycle with particular emphasis to turbine heat cycle. Understanding of rotating equipment design and fabrication. High energy piping design and arrangement knowledge.

    Able to work extended hours, including weekends, holidays and outages as required.
    Professional Engineering License preferred.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    Minimum education required of the position:

    B.S. Degree in Engineering Mechanical Engineering desired.

    Minimum experience required of the position:

    6 years of applicable and progressive experience.

    Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position:

    Demonstrates good engineering judgment. Strong engineering analysis and problem solving skills as required by the specific job. Thorough understanding of procedures, programs, and standards in responsible area.
