Associate Engineer thru Engineer
This position will support the Southern Region plants including Big Brown, Oak Grove and Sandow.
This position is responsible for gathering and correlating basic data and performing detailed or routine engineering, research or administrative assignments involving calculations, analysis, problem solving and less complex technical tasks, under close supervision.
Key Roles & Responsibilities Other duties may be assigned. Directly or through others, the incumbent will:
Perform routine engineering evaluations of components, systems, programs, processes.
Perform simple root cause analyses.
Assess and resolve less complex potential conditions adverse to quality.
Prepare minor design changes and calculations.
Prepare engineering reports.
Perform tasks in accordance with established expectations for plant safety and personnel safety.
Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements
Bachelors of Science Engineering degree or related Science degree from a college or university with an accredited engineering program
Familiar with plant processes/programs
Evaluating, selecting and applying standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria
Problem solving/Decision making
Planning and scheduling of assignments
Work effectively with people of diverse backgrounds and areas of expertise
Possess good written and verbal communication skills
Good interpersonal skills
Possess a questioning attitude
Occasional long, irregular hours
Use of a PC, computer terminal and/or telephone usually more than 6 hours a day.
Work is often in an industrial power plant environment of operating equipment and machinery. Some engineering work is in an outdoor environment during extremes of weather conditions (heat, cold, rain)
